Headlining

Headlining fabric is the stretch material used to cover the roof and upper walls inside a vehicle. Ours is a genuine 4-way stretch lining that follows curves and recesses without creasing, stocked in six colourways for van conversions, campers and trim repairs.

Material information

Roof lining that moves with the curve

Headliner has no rigid backing, stretching in every direction to fit roof contours smoothly. It's the correct material for roof lining work — genuinely built to the “four-way stretch” description sometimes also, and incorrectly, applied to floor lining materials. Available in six colourways. Features: • Genuine four-way stretch — moulds around curves • Brushed, soft-touch finish • Purpose-built for roof and wall lining • Six colourways available Request Headliner Samples.

Frequently asked questions

What is 4-way stretch headlining and why does it matter?

4-way stretch means the fabric stretches both along and across the roll, so it can be pulled around curved roof panels and wheel-arch shapes without wrinkling or pleating. 2-way stretch fabrics only give in one direction and are harder to fit on complex shapes.

Can I use headlining fabric on van walls as well as the roof?

Yes. The Multi Stretch lining is sold for both roof and wall use; the stretch that lets it follow a roof also suits wall panels and door cards.
