Upholstery Fabrics

Our upholstery fabrics are soft, suede-effect polyester microfibres for seating, panels and interior trim. Each is tested to the cigarette-ignition standards listed on its page; where an application needs a higher fire standard, ask us about back-coating or a compliant interliner before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

Are these fabrics real suede or nubuck?

No. Munich and Nubuk are polyester microfibre fabrics with a suede-like or nubuck-like finish. They contain no leather.

Do these fabrics meet UK furniture fire regulations?

As standard, both are tested to the cigarette-ignition test (BS 5852 Part I, cigarette). Many UK uses also require a match test or Crib 5, which these fabrics do not meet as standard. Nubuk can be supplied with an optional back-coating for higher standards. Compliance depends on the finished construction, so tell us the end use and ask for the current test certificate before ordering.

How should I clean them?

Clean spills promptly with a neutral soap solution, using a cloth in smooth circular movements.
